How to Read a Doppler Weather Radar Picture

Radar0.60

We'll admit it. Until we had a house, we used to look at the doppler radar and just see - well moving rain or snow or stuff. Now when we look at the radar pictures, we use the gradient of color to quickly scan the pictures. Blue is better and yellow through purple - not so good. Last night we experienced some dark green, yellow, and some orange rain and you could really tell the difference as the different periods of heavy rain came through. We don't know how much "weather" we'll cover at WeatherSnob.com, but we thought this simple look at reading a doppler radar picture could give you some easy insight.
