We're always wondering about what the weather will hold for us outside of our homes, but what about inside your home? Indoor weather is a big factor in your health and well being. Are you currently having a dry indoor weather system because of living in the Northeast? Well one way to get the humidity up is with the Honeywell QuietCare 11 Gallon Console Humidifier with Air Washing Technology. It delivers an ultra-quiet performance and also cleans the air. We have an older humidifier and also the RabbitAir BioGP air filter system. It looks like the Honeywell QuietCare may do both jobs at once.

Space weather? We simply never thought about storms on the sun or the upper ionosphere being weather you could get data on reliably, but you can. Conditions on the Sun and in the solar wind, magnetosphere, and the ionosphere can also affect our lives through the effects they have on satellites, communications, navigation, and power systems. Scientists are now studying space weather with a wide range of tools to try to learn more about the physical and chemical processes taking place in the upper atmosphere and beyond. One of these tools is GPS.
Click on through for a full article on this amazing area of weather we had no idea about.

This is the complete package. At just over $200 dollars, the Honeywell TE923W Complete Weather Station with Atomic Clock and Remote Control monitors just about any weather condition created by Mother Nature, including the UV index. The unit can measures wind speed and direction; rainfall amount; indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity; and includes a wireless UV (Ultraviolet) sensor that measures potentially harmful UV levels. It also has 12 to 24-hour weather forecasting and a 24-hour barometric pressure history chart. The station has eight-channel capability and will accept up to four additional sensors with a wireless transmission range of approximately 300 feet.
The atomic clock features a crescendo alarm with snooze alarm and never needs resetting. The time updates automatically each day within the continental U.S. via a radio signal transmitted from Fort Collins, Colorado, adjusting the clock to within one second of official government time. It even automatically adjusts for Daylight Savings Time. An AC adapter for automatic remote control included. The weather station and accessories require 14 AA batteries (not included), so you may want to look into some rechargeable options on the battery front.

I'm not sure I need a handheld weather alert radio all the time, but for the hikes I used to take on various trails in NH, or long stays out in the boat fishing on bad weather days - I can see it. You can stay informed of current local weather and hazard conditions whether when you're camping, hiking, hunting, or just hanging around the house with this handheld Midland weather alert radio. Capable of receiving seven National Oceanic & Atmospheric Association (NOAA) channels--each of which receives emergency advisories on tornadoes, floods, severe thunderstorms, civil danger warnings, and more--the 74-250C is a must for people who live in high-risk weather areas, or for people who just want a little extra protection when hitting the outdoors. Plus, the seven NOAA channels offer coverage for roughly 93 percent of the U.S., so most residents are well covered regardless of where they live.

So not totally weather radio related, but interesting none the less. We like the fact you can subscribe to stations all over the globe and that means "global weather coverage." The radio will hook right up to your WI-FI network and has near CD quality music and weather news at 192k bit rates.

We personally own this radio and weather band wonder. We love it because it never runs out of juice when you need to get the details on the weather at hand. When buying a weather radio - don't skimp on price or features. This sturdy AM/FM radio is built to handle the elements, as well as a power outage, thanks to a hand crank that can be used to recharge the built-in battery. Thanks to the FR300's reception of NOAA weather radio, emergency information is always close at hand when you need it, making this radio a must-have for anyone who wants to be as ready as possible for unforeseen events.
