We found this rather interesting article on weather delays and what airports don't want you to know. They mostly use any weather excuse to get out of paying you, telling you why you're late, or just to delay you.
1. If there is a hint of bad weather anywhere, that will be used as the excuse
2 .Weather is considered an "Act of God" and it basically means the carrier owes passengers nothing.
